"I want you to meet my friend"

In August of 2019, Katie arrived for her sophomore year at Illinois State University. Moving into her dorm, she was quickly introduced by her roommate to a group of "some weird guys" (thanks, Kristin!) from Neuqua Valley High School who lived across the hall. Among them were three new neighbors, plus their friend Luck, who practically lived with them. From the start, they all quickly became friends, but there was still one roommate yet to arrive—Matt. Matt, not in the best mood for making new friends, wasn’t exactly eager to jump into socializing when he returned to school. That is, until Luck pulled Katie aside one night and said, "I want you to meet my friend." So at 2 in the morning, Matt and Katie met for the first time—and thankfully so. What started as a sleepy, awkward encounter quickly became the foundation of a friendship that neither of them expected.

From the moment they met in 2019 until today, Katie and Matt have built countless memories together with friends and family. From unforgettable trips to Las Vegas and Florida—where they made memories and tried new things—to cozy nights out with their closest friends, each experience has been one to cherish. Whether it was living across the hall from each other, across the street, or in different cities—from Northbrook to Naperville—they’ve always found their way back to each other. Throughout the years, they’ve weathered the ups and downs of life together, growing stronger with each challenge they faced. They’ve celebrated new jobs, milestones, and special moments—always supporting one another through it all. From late-night talks to mornings spent enjoying the simple things in life, every day has been a testament to the love they've built. Now, in their new home in Schaumburg, they look back on their journey with hearts full of gratitude, joy, and anticipation for what’s to come. Every laugh, every adventure, every quiet moment has led them to this beautiful chapter of their lives, and they are excited to continue writing the story together. The memories they've made have only deepened their bond, and they can’t wait to see what the future holds—together, hand in hand.

Matt and I first met in 2019 at Illinois State thanks to Katie. After about an hour, I knew that he was a special guy. After a few months, I knew he was a best friend forever. There has never been another human in my life that I have made endless core memories with. It is clear that his charismatic and thoughtful personality pulls everyone together which is why I thank him for introducing me to the rest of the gentlemen standing by his side on the biggest day of his life. Not only is Matt a great friend, but he's a great partner to Katie as well. I have had the privilege to watch these two grow from the start. Their relationship is the epitome of what a happy, healthy, and loving relationship should look like. His pursuit to make her feel whole and her compassion to make him feel complete is second to none. I can't wait for the big day and I love them both dearly.

Kyle Obsuszt

As the younger sister of the bride, I've had a front-row seat to her entire life and let me tell you, it's been quite the show! From stealing her clothes (sorry, not sorry!) to being her personal therapist, I've seen it all. But, watching her find a love as special as what she shares with Matt has been truly amazing. I'm not just excited for her to get married; but excited for her new adventure in life being an Ingram. Congratulations and can’t wait to celebrate!

I met Matt in high school and we instantly became great friends. We have built a strong bond ever since, through the great memories and inside jokes we’ve had, the tough times, and everything in between, we have always had each other’s backs no matter what. It has been so exciting to see Matt and Katie’s journey through the years, they really are a perfect match. I am honored to stand by Matt’s side on their big day and can’t wait to celebrate with them!

Katie has always been the outgoing one of the sister bunch - the kind of person who signs up for karaoke in Mexico and belts out “Wrecking Ball” in a hilariously off-key glory while Earl plays judge (she won). Her fearless spirit and infectious laughter never cease to amaze me. We’re so fortunate to celebrate a love as joyful as her. Cheers to Kippie & Matt!

Amanda Berg

I’ve known Matt ever since the start of sophomore year of high school. He did not like me. Through Luck, we got to know each other more and have become great friends to this day. I’ve gotten the pleasure of seeing Matt at his best and also at his worst. But nothing compares to the guy he is with Katie in his life. She has truly brought out the very best in him. I still have yet to see her get upset. I am truly honored to stand by Matt and Katie as these two celebrate their next chapter together. 

Nate Hambright

Katie has a way of making everything better just by being there. Even during the quietest days of the Covid lockdowns, she filled our home with such positive energy. Suddenly, things like YouTube workout videos, puzzles, long post-dinner walks, and sipping White Claws became moments I looked forward to—because I had Kip by my side. She is the definition of kind-hearted, and I feel so lucky to call her my sister. Watching her thrive with Matt has been such a joy, and I can’t wait to see them tie the knot!

Going way back to our high school wrestling days, Matt has always been a great friend and true fighter. No doubt he’ll give you the shirt off his back and be there for you in life‘s ups and downs. He can lift you up with a laugh, or a funny memory, and is always down to match your vibe. Matt brings an energy that is fun to be around and having so many memories together I’m grateful to be able to share them with him, especially this one. Even through Illinois State, the adventures continued and our family grew bigger and stronger. It is safe to say Matt is someone you want in your corner and Katie found the perfect person to have in hers. 

Dan Sanderson

Katie and I met our freshman year of college, when we were both still figuring ourselves out and what we wanted for the future. She’s been my roommate, travel buddy, and now long distance best friend. We've grown through so many things together, celebrated the highs, and leaned on each other through the lows. Being by her side as she marries the love of her life is such a full circle moment. From our crazy college nights of not knowing what the future holds, to her about to marry her person, it's been the greatest joy to grow alongside Katie and witness her become the incredible woman she is today. I can’t wait for the wedding and I couldn’t be happier for the future Mr. and Mrs. Ingram!

Kristin Carr

I met Matt in 4th grade in Mrs. Borghesi’s class, where our first argument sparked over my bold claim that the Halo universe would beat the COD universe. Matt wasn’t a fan of that take—but little did we know that moment would be the beginning of a lifelong friendship filled with unforgettable memories. From lunch table banter and high school pod runs to prom weekend, college nights (so many of them), and of course, Vegas—it's been an incredible ride. We've shared so much laughter and adventure over the years. But none of those moments have lit up your face the way Katie does. From the very first time she came over to steal our paper towel holder, I could tell the playful banter was more than just neighborly fun. I never imagined you'd meet the love of your life at just 19 years old—but here we are. I’m beyond happy for both of you and truly honored to stand by your side as you commit yourselves to a lifetime of love.

I met Katie through Matt while going on a visit to Illinois State. She was so welcoming and instantly lit up the room! Watching their relationship grow from the beginning has been incredible. Katie is the type of friend who you can have fun doing absolutely anything with! From late nights out, rotting on the couch, or trying new health kicks, I’m so grateful for all of our memories. We’ve been there for eachother through so much and now, on her wedding day, I am so honored to stand beside Katie as her and Matt begin this next chapter! 

Madi Rathell

I have known Matt for as long as I can remember as we grew up 4 houses down from each other. Matt and I have been friends since our first year of football on the Bengals. Between school and sports,  I spent every waking minute with this man. So much, to the point that when his dad would yell “BOY” up the stairs, we would be unsure as to which one of us he was calling for. He is one of my best friends and always has been. Nothing brings me more joy than to watch him marry the girl of his dreams that he always deserves.

Miles Rathell

As Matthew’s cousin, he’s been there with me since day 1. We always had sleepovers, played too many hours of Club Penguin, and got to spend every holiday, family trip, birthday together. And I am so happy that he met Katie, who immediately fit right in with our family. I have had so much fun with her, from all you can eat sushi & going out for my birthday. And now I am so excited to be one of her bridesmaids! I can’t wait to celebrate Katie and Matthew and to keep making future memories together!

Matt was the first person I met when transferring to a new high school and some of my best memories at that time had him in it. From starting a fight club to sharing a few drinks at our usual bars in college, it’s no secret that Matt has been one of my closest friend for the past decade. After meeting Katie in college with Matt, I’m happy to have seen a beautiful friendship blossom into an even stronger husband and wife. Katie, please keep Matt out of trouble for me, and Matt, don’t forget how lucky you are to have such an amazing woman looking out for you. Mazel tov!

I met Katie freshman year of high school, and I’m so grateful to call her one of my closest friends. She’s always been the kind of person you can count on and she has this way of making all of our hangouts more memorable. I always feel more adventurous when I am with her (aka being out far later than I ever plan on). Getting to know Matt and seeing how well they fit together has been so special and they’re such a great team. I’m so excited to celebrate them and all that’s ahead!

I’ve known Matt ever since our high school days. We were mutual friends with a bunch of people and I got invited to his house for a get together one year and we became great friends within a night. Matt and I were roommates for 2 years during the college years and let me tell you, if there is someone you would want in your corner, it would be Matt Ingram. We’ve seen each other at some of our worst times and some of our best and he’s been nothing but supportive and helpful through all of it. Matt truly is the type of guy that would drive across the country to help you if you needed it. Seeing the relationship he has with Katie has truly been something you see in the movies. The love they share is nothing short of amazing and admirable. They bring out the best in not only each other, but everyone around them and then some. I am incredibly grateful to know them both and honored to be apart of this amazing couple’s big day and can’t wait to celebrate Matt and Katie!

Jared Komarynsky

Katie and I first met at Lyon School in 1st grade, not knowing it was the start of a lifelong friendship. I feel incredibly lucky to call her my best friend after all these years. From riding our bikes to the Glenview Dairy Bar, to sleepovers that somehow always turned into double or triple-night stays (with house swaps in between, of course), we’ve shared so many unforgettable moments. We ran around at soccer practice, hid in the back row during chorus at Springman, and spent countless summers at Corey Lake—playing mermaids and hanging on for dear life as Tim flung us off the tubes into the water. Whether we were writing letters from camp or visiting each other in college, no amount of time or distance has ever changed our bond. We’ve grown up together, laughed until we cried (and yes—peed our pants), and helped each other navigate life’s big and small moments; the kind of memories that stay with you forever. It means the world to stand by your side as you marry Matt. The love you two share is so genuine and inspiring, and I couldn’t be happier to celebrate this next chapter with you both.
